good ways to practice golf at home?

April 13th, 2010 by Affair Tragedy

i just started playing golf i have a whole set of clubs, my yard is huge iit like 60 yards long and very wide with a little hill. now i have practiced pitching with a pw obviously and this is fine and all but it gets boring only practicing that… what are some other exercises i can work on to improve my basic game right now? details please… thank you very much ahead of time

Practice your chipping and pitching since your yard is 60 yards long, that’s quite big. Also you can practice your full swings in the grass, without hitting balls. Use real golf balls, not wiffle balls. You can practice your full swings with all of your clubs from your wedge to your driver. With using woods, try to stick a tee in the grass, and practice hitting with a tee, but don’t tee up a ball though. With your irons, practice hittting the ground, don’t practice swinging without hitting the ground, hit the ground, and make a few divots.

I am looking to buy a new gap wedge in golf?

Putting is the most important part.

    Practice that and short chips.

The long game is easy. It’s the short game that keeps us duffers from going pro.

get whiffle balls and practice hitting the ball straight and elevating the ball a little and on your little hill take a sandwedge and a few golf balls and pretend there is a sandtrap there and practice getting the ball out and play a few putts in your house or outside take a driver hit a few golf balls and try to hit them straight hit fades and pitches

that will help thats what I do to help my game out
